Psychological Case Consultation
Assessing or supporting a student with visual impairment, blindness, deafblindness, or CVI requires looking beyond standard psychoeducational protocols. VI Psych provides peer-to-peer clinical consultation to help psychologists navigate complex visual access needs, select valid assessment measures, and design appropriate educational accommodations.
Complimentary Consultation for Ontario School-Board Psychologists
To support school teams across Ontario, we offer a complimentary 30-minute case consultation for school-based psychologists tasked with assessing a child with a visual impairment
Included in the free 30-minute consultation:
-
Recommended testing tools and valid assessment measures for your student's specific visual skillset.
-
Appropriate testing adaptations and modifications, and how these impact interpretation.
-
General interpretation guidance and guidance on disentangling visual access from learning differences.
Note: Specific diagnostic interpretation of a student's individual test protocols is excluded from the complimentary service due to clinical liability.
Requirements & Preparation:
-
Joint Attendance: To ensure complete context, both the school psychologist and the Vision Itinerant Teacher (TVI) must jointly attend the consultation meeting.
